Kids & Teens

Mindfulness practices can help address the many issues kids and teens face, such as:

  • managing stress and anxiety
  • coping with negative thoughts
  • focusing attention in and out of school
  • controlling behavior
  • navigating difficult social situations

Roots & Wings teaches children and adults self-regulatory strategies to promote emotional, behavioral, and attentional control. Jenny draws on her background in education, psychology, and mindfulness to coach clients in adopting metacognitive techniques to promote efficient habits of mind. She specializes in teaching individuals how the complex interplay of emotions, sensations, and thoughts drives behavior and how mindfulness allows us to respond vs. react to one's experiences.

Private Sessions

Roots & Wings offers private sessions for individuals (age 7 and up) at 860 W. Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr, PA and at the Old Pine Community Center in Philadelphia. We also now offer online sessions for high school studnets. These sessions are tailored to meet the needs of each person’s roadblocks, providing an individualized 1:1 experience. Contact us to set up an initial phone call to see if private sessions are a good fit for you, your son, or your daughter. Workshops and Classes for Kids and Teens

Throughout the school year and over the summer Roots & Wings offers periodic workshops and classes geared toward tweens and teens. Participating in a group session is a great way for students to be introduced to mindfulness practices within the safety of a group of peers. The best way to stay updated on these workshops is to join the mailing list!
